How to remove the receiver and intake manifold of the VAZ-2112 engine

Removing and Fitting the VAZ-2112 Engine Receiver and Intake Manifold

We remove the receiver and the intake manifold to carry out cylinder head removal and repair work, and also during a major engine overhaul.

Removing the throttle body

Using a 13 mm socket, we unscrew the two throttle body retaining nuts from the receiver. When fitting the receiver, the retaining nut tightening torque is 15–20 N·m.

We remove the throttle body from the studs.

We remove the sealing gasket.

Removing the receiver

We disconnect the vacuum supply hose to the electro-pneumatic valve from the receiver.

We disconnect the brake vacuum booster hose.

If the engine is installed in the vehicle:

Using a 10 mm socket, we unscrew the two receiver retaining nuts from the cylinder head cover supports.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, we slacken the clamps of the sleeves connecting the receiver to the intake manifold.

We remove the receiver.

Removing the intake manifold

Using a 10 mm spanner, we unscrew the oil dipstick guide tube retaining bolt.

To remove the intake manifold, using a 13 mm socket, we unscrew the five nuts securing it to the cylinder head.

We remove the intake manifold.

We withdraw the manifold gasket.

Fitting of the intake manifold and receiver is carried out in the reverse order.
