We reduce the brake pads of the wheel
We unscrew the three screws securing the brake drum with a large screwdriver and remove it from the hub
If the drum is not removed, knock the drum off the hub with hammer blows through a wooden block
Use a screwdriver to pry off and remove the return spring of the brake pads. It is convenient to use special tongs
Remove the brake pad rods and cups with springs
Unscrew the head on 19 nuts of the brake pad support pins
We take out the support pins together with washers, bronze bushings, plate and brake pads
On the rear brake shoe of the rear wheel, the brake lining is shorter
Install the brake pads in reverse order
When installing the support fingers of the brake pads, we orient them so that the marks on the ends of the fingers face each other
Turning the eccentric bolts with the “17” key, we bring the pads together
We install the brake drum on the hub, after which we adjust the gap between the pads and the drum

When adjusting the gap between the front brake pad of the rear wheel and the drum, rotate the wheel forward, and when adjusting the rear brake pad, rotate the wheel back
Rotating the wheel in the indicated direction with the “17” key, turn the eccentric bolt of one of the blocks in the direction of wheel rotation until the wheel slows down.
Slightly release the eccentric until the wheel starts to rotate freely, without touching the drum with a block.
Similarly, we adjust the clearance of the second block.
To adjust the gaps between the brake pads and the drum, do not turn the support pins of the pads
We check the heating of the brake drums, the efficiency and uniformity of braking while the car is moving.
During the first 100 km, while the new pads have not run in, be careful, as the braking distance of the car with new ones
brake pads may increase
