Let's consider the removal of the connecting rod and piston group without removing the engine from the car
We prepare the car and install it on a viewing ditch or lift
We remove the cylinder head, as indicated in the article "Removing and repairing the cylinder head of the UAZ-3151, -31512, -31514, -31519 engine"
Drain the oil and remove the engine pan
We remove the oil pump, discussed in the article "Removal and installation of oil system elements UAZ-3151, -31512, -31514, -31519"
If replacement of cylinder liners is not provided, then it is necessary to fix them (for engines with replaceable liners)
We select suitable washers and bushings and fix the sleeves, as shown in the figure
Using a 15 head, unscrew the two nuts securing the connecting rod cover
Remove the connecting rod cover
Push out the piston with the connecting rod up
Remove the piston with the connecting rod from the cylinder
If you need to remove the cylinder liners, then mark them, and press out the cylinder liners with a special puller
If there is no puller, then we knock out the sleeve through a soft metal mandrel

After the connecting rods with pistons are installed, we tighten the nuts of the connecting rod caps with a torque wrench. The tightening torque of the nuts of the connecting rod caps is 6.8-7.5 kgcm.
