We remove the fuel rail to check and replace the injectors, as well as to dismantle the intake pipe.
We release the fuel pressure (described in the article — Replacing the additional fuel filter).
We disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
We remove the fuel rail protection, for this:
On the F4R engine, through the channels, using a 13 mm socket, we undo the two nuts of the studs securing the fuel rail protection.
We withdraw it from the engine compartment.
After this:
On the F4R engine
We press the retainer of the fuel supply pipe terminal to the fuel rail.
We remove the pipe terminal from the fuel rail union.
We press the retainer of the wiring connector, disconnect the connector from the injector connector.
We also disconnect all connectors from the other injectors.
Using an 8 mm socket, we undo the two bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake pipe.
Pulling the fuel rail, we withdraw all four injectors from the openings in the intake pipe.
The photo shows the openings for the injectors in the intake pipe.
We prise with a screwdriver.
We remove the injector locking clip.
We withdraw the injector from the fuel rail seat.
Prising with a thin screwdriver, we remove the injector sealing rings.
The grey rings — the injector is sealed in the fuel rail, and the brown ones — in the intake pipe.
On the K4M engine
We remove the fuel rail in the same way as on the 2.0 l engine.
We remove the fuel rail with injectors.
We prise out the retainer with a screwdriver.
We remove the injector locking clip.
We withdraw the injector from the fuel rail seat.
Prising with a thin flat-blade screwdriver, we remove the injector sealing rings.
The injector is sealed by two rubber rings.
Blue — in the fuel rail, black — in the intake pipe.
We carry out the assembly and installation of the fuel rail with injectors in the reverse order.
Before installing the injectors, we apply a thin layer of engine oil to their sealing rings.
After installing the locking clip, we check for each injector the reliability of its fixation in the fuel rail seat.
