Replacement of the immobilizer coil Renault Duster

In the article we consider the replacement of the immobiliser coil and the contact group of the ignition switch

The immobiliser coil is fitted onto a section of tube (welded to the tube of the steering column), in which the ignition switch is installed.

We remove the coil for replacement and when dismantling the ignition switch.

We remove the ignition switch for replacement in the event of its failure or to replace the contact group.

We prepare the vehicle for the work.

We disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

We remove the steering column shrouds (article – Design and replacement of the steering column switches Renault Duster)

We remove the instrument cluster

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — Having pressed the retainer of the wiring connector, we disconnect the connector from the immobiliser coil (the steering column switches are removed, for clarity)

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — Having released the two retainers, we remove the immobiliser coil

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — Through the opening under the instrument cluster we release the retainer of the holder of the wiring connectors of the ignition switch

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — Having shifted the connectors downwards, we remove them from the holder

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — We prise with a flat screwdriver the retainer of the wiring connector

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — We shift the retainer upwards

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — We disconnect the wiring connector of the ignition switch from the wiring harness connector

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — With a Torx T-20 key we unscrew the securing screw of the ignition switch.

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — Having inserted the key into the ignition switch, we turn it to the intermediate position between the marks «A» and «M»

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — We press on the retainer of the switch

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — For clarity we show on the ignition switch withdrawn from its seat

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — We remove the ignition switch, pulling the harness of its wires out of the seat of the steering column

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — With a Torx T-8 key we unscrew the screw

Replacement of the immobiliser coil Renault Duster — We remove the cover and the contact group

We install the contact group and the immobiliser coil in the reverse order.
