The vacuum brake booster is replaced when it fails. If the vacuum booster is faulty, the force on the brake pedal increases significantly
If the force on the brake pedal has noticeably increased during braking, you need to check the amplifier on a stationary car.
When the engine is not running, we press the brake pedal five or six times on the brake pedal.
Holding the brake pedal in the pressed position, start the engine.
The brake pedal should move forward.
If this does not happen, then the vacuum amplifier or the check valve of the vacuum amplifier does not work, and the vacuum amplifier hose may also not be sealed.
Replacing the vacuum booster valve
Having overcome the resistance of the clamps, we remove the check valve from the sealing sleeve of the vacuum brake booster housing.
To assess the serviceability of the check valve, its tube must be disconnected from the fitting of the engine receiver.
To do this, squeeze the two clamps of the valve tube tip
And disconnect the tube tip from the receiver fitting
Remove the check valve with the tube.
The serviceability of the valve can be assessed by blowing into it (for example, with your mouth) in both directions.
The air should pass in the direction from the amplifier to the receiver, but not in the opposite direction.
The faulty valve is being replaced.
Before installing the valve, check the condition of the rubber seal of the valve tube tip
We check the condition of the rubber sealing sleeve of the valve located in the opening of the vacuum amplifier housing.
Replacement of the vacuum brake booster
Remove the check valve of the vacuum booster as described above
Unscrew the two nuts securing the main brake cylinder (article - Replacing the main cylinder brakes Renault Duster)
To prevent air from entering the hydraulic drive of the brake system, do not disconnect the brake tubes.
Carefully bending the brake tubes, remove the main brake cylinder from the pins of the vacuum booster and pull it aside.
The connection of the main brake cylinder with the vacuum brake booster is sealed with a rubber ring.
In the car interior, under the instrument panel, we pry two sound insulation holders with a screwdriver
Removing noise insulation
We remove the split plastic locking ring from the finger of the pusher attachment to the brake pedal
We remove the spring lock of the vacuum booster pusher attachment finger from the brake pedal to the pedal
Remove the finger from the pedal holes and the pusher eyelets
With the head on 13, unscrew the four nuts of the vacuum amplifier attachment to the front panel
Two on the right side of the pedal bracket
And two on the left side
We remove the booster pusher from the opening of the front flap and remove the vacuum booster from the engine compartment.
We install the vacuum amplifier in reverse order.
