Possible wiper malfunctions and repair methods
- Fault
Troubleshooting
The cleaner motor is not working, the fuse in the mounting block is good:
- Damaged wires, oxidized or loose ends
Crimp lugs, replace faulty wires
- Steering column switch failure
Replace the defective purifier switch
- The brushes of the electric motor are stuck, the collector is very dirty or burnt
Remove stuck brushes, clean commutator or replace gearmotor
- Break in the motor armature winding
Replace the gearmotor
- Faulty auxiliary relay
Replace the relay
The cleaner motor does not work, the cleaner circuit protection fuse in the mounting block blows:
- The brushes froze to the glass
After turning off the cleaner, carefully separate the brushes from the glass, check the integrity of the rubber scraper, restore the mobility of the brush joints
- Cleaner brushes touch body parts
Check if the levers are installed correctly, straighten deformed levers or replace the cleaner
- Short circuit in the motor winding
Replace the gearmotor
Wiper motor not intermittent:
- Faulty purifier relay
Replace the relay
- Faulty steering column switch
Replace the faulty switch
Wiper motor does not stop intermittently:
- Faulty purifier relay
Replace the relay
- The petals of the limit switch are poorly pressed against the gear of the geared motor
Fold the contact petals of the limit switch
- Oxidized or burned contacts of the limit switch
Clean the contacts or replace the cleaner gearmotor
Brushes stop at random position:
- The crank nut on the axle has loosened
Having installed the crank correctly, tighten the nut
- The contact petals of the limit switch are poorly pressed against the gear of the geared motor
Fold the contact petals of the limit switch
Brushes do not work synchronously:
- The fastening of the lever of one of the brushes on the shaft has loosened
Install the brush in the desired position and tighten the arm fastening nut
The cleaner motor works, but the brushes do not move:
- The crank nut on the axis of the gear motor-reducer has loosened
After installing the crank correctly, tighten the nut
- Gear teeth are chipped
Replace the gearmotor
